Hotel Embarque is a reimagined mid-century modern open-air hotel located just minutes from Scottsdale and Phoenix Sky Harbor. Anchored by a central pool and outdoor gathering experience, it's designed as a water and desert oasis for guests and locals alike.

The name comes from the Spanish embarque, meaning "boarding," rooted in barque, a sailboat. If Sky Harbor is a harbor in the sky, this is the vessel waiting when you land. A place to arrive, settle in, and connect.

The stay is far beyond the room itself. It's an invitation to drop your bags, lose your plans, and embrace the desert ease.

Every guest is welcomed with a chilled first pour, served in a small unglazed clay vessel. The generosity is inherited, not invented: for generations across Mexico, a cántaro stood by the door, kept cool and full so no traveler left thirsty.

When can I book a stay?

Online reservations are open for stays beginning January 3, 2027. If you need to be here before then, email [email protected] and our team will arrange it directly.

What makes Hotel Embarque different from other Phoenix hotels?

Most hotels are organised around the room. Hotel Embarque is organised around the courtyard. It's a reimagined mid-century modern building wrapped around an open-air pool deck with private cabanas and the Cántaro Pool Club at its centre, so the social life of the hotel happens outside rather than in a lobby. That, plus a location on the Arcadia edge of the Camelback corridor, is what makes it feel less like a place to sleep and more like somewhere to spend the day.

Is Hotel Embarque a good base for visiting Scottsdale?

Yes. Old Town Scottsdale is about ten minutes by car, and the Scottsdale golf corridor and spring training ballparks sit just past it. Staying on the Phoenix side of the line usually means a better rate and a shorter run to Sky Harbor, while still being a few minutes from everything in Old Town.

Is there a hotel pool near Camelback Mountain?

Hotel Embarque is roughly eight minutes from the Echo Canyon trailhead, with a resort-style outdoor pool, complimentary lounge chairs, private cabana rentals and a hot tub. Hike Camelback at sunrise, be back in the water by mid-morning.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Arriving early or leaving late? Let the front desk know and we'll do what we can. There's always the pool deck in the meantime.

Is there parking on site?

Yes. Self-parking is available on site for a nightly fee, including accessible van parking.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are welcome, up to two per room at 40 lbs each. A pet fee and one-time cleaning fee apply per stay, and service animals stay free. Let us know when you book so we can help accommodate you and your pets.

Do I have to be a hotel guest to visit Cántaro Pool Club?

Cántaro is built for guests and locals alike, so the courtyard restaurant and bar are open to the neighborhood. Pool and cabana access is reserved for hotel guests. Get in touch for day passes and larger parties.

How far is Phoenix Sky Harbor?

About ten minutes by car in normal traffic. Old Town Scottsdale is roughly the same, and Camelback Mountain is closer still.

Do you have space for meetings or a wedding?
